The mission of Schenectady Stand Up Guys is to raise awareness about men’s violence against women and girls and to promote gender equality in our community. We accomplish this mission through education, community projects and by holding events and activities that raise awareness.

       70% of Schenectady Police calls for service are

       domestic (family related and alike).

       50% of the District attorney's cases are domestic.

       70-80% of the Family Court cases are domestic.

       50% of the one Public Defender was domestic.

This is a community-wide problem. It affects girls and boys, men and women. It is a crime that primarily victimizes women. You can find it in any neighborhood; any business; houses of worship and any school. 

Schenectady is spending a lot of money for a

less than effective response!

We continue to reach out to men who have had a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, daughter, niece, neighbor, friend, co-worker, classmate (any woman they know) who has experienced domestic violence or abuse, sexual assault, molestation, dating violence, sexual harassment or stalking in her lifetime.  We are urging men, instead of being a sympathetic by-stander or merely coping with related anger with no place to put it, to join this profoundly necessary cause.  We are asking all men to make it personal, join us, and make a difference.  If you are such a guy or if you know such a guy, come see what we are about!  Please encourage anyone that you know to join us- of course, men and women.  JOIN US TODAY!
